Guiding Principle
Just like any athlete, amputee athletes should have the proper equipment to perform to their fullest potential on any terrain.
THE TREND
A new generation of amputee athletes is taking to the field.
The running blade was initially intended to be solely used on the track, but amputees are testing its limits in sports such as football, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse.
THE OPPORTUNITY
These athletes were cutting apart cleats and taping them to their blade.
This method provides insufficient traction, causing amputees to slip when playing. This is unacceptable as it keeps these athletes from performing to their fullest potential.
THE Client
Kody Kasey, Georgetown College Defensive Back and Kick Returner.
We worked with Kody throughout the entire process gathering insights and testing every prototype we produced on the field.
